We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Spanish-speaking volunteer to provide companionship and emotional support to a hospice patient in the Kilgore area. This is a non-medical role that makes a profound difference in the life of someone receiving end-of-life care.
Responsibilities include:
- Spending time with the patient through conversation, reading, or simply being present
- Offering emotional support and companionship
- Helping reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness
- Reporting visit notes and observations to the Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements:
- Must be fluent in
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must pass a background check, and TB test (provided)
- Completion of hospice volunteer training ( provided)
- Reliable transportation
Preferred Qualities:
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Respect for diverse backgrounds and beliefs
- Ability to maintain boundaries and follow hospice protocols
