Job Title : Director of Media Planning and Strategy

Location : New York, NY (3 days / week)

Department : Sales

Type : Full-Time, Exempt

Experience : 7 years

Core Hours : 9 AM - 1 PM PST / 12 - 4 PM EST

What You'll Do

  • Lead media strategy and planning for our clients, ensuring campaigns align with business objectives and deliver measurable performance outcomes.
  • Develop a program for effective media plans focused on client's performance goals, integrating programmatic, and data-driven strategies.
  • Allocate and structure the optimal campaign details at the deal ID and targeting level.
  • Translate RFPs into inventory or audience requests by addressing frequency caps, deal IDs, device types, geos, and target CPMs to ensure align with advertiser KPIs
  • Work with Supply to simplify and maximize use of available inventory, navigate publisher nuances, and evangelize optimal deals.
  • Create media planning standardization across our sales verticals to maximize performance and client retention
  • Partner with sales, analytics, and product teams to ensure a seamless connection between media planning, ad execution / Adops, and performance measurement.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to refine recommended targeting and measurement strategies across client campaigns
  • Support agency and brand education efforts, helping advertisers understand and adopt Performance TV strategies.
  • Over time, build a team of media planners, fostering collaboration and innovation in a fast-growing, results-driven environment.
  • Collaborate with AEs to understand RFPs / briefs and gather necessary details including, but not limited to budget, flight dates, target audience, KPIs, geo, historical brand info, attribution window, and overall campaign goals.
  • Research the current media landscape and stay updated with the latest media trends in order to provide strategic direction of opportunities and best practices including internal thought leadership to help our company get smarter about these trends.

  • You'll Be Successful in This Role if You Have / Are

  • 7 years of media and strategy planning experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused in Digital or CTV advertising.
  • Deep expertise in Connected TV (CTV), programmatic buying, and performance marketing.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing media strategies that drive measurable business results.
  • Experience working with ad tech platforms, DSPs, and measurement tools (e.g., The Trade Desk, DV360, iSpot, Google Analytics).
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, with the ability to translate insights into actionable media strategies.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with experience managing teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to educate and influence clients and partners on the value of Performance TV.
