Minimum Educational Requirements: Associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory or equivalent education and training
Minimum Experience Required: Prefer 1 Year minimum of laboratory experience. Mass Spec experience preferred.
Professional Certifications or Licenses: MLT/MT Certification Preferred
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6:30pm
Summary:
Toxicology Assistants are responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and for reporting test results.
· Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and
maintaining records of patient results.
· Maintain records which demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as
patient specimens.
· Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies and documenting all Quality Control activities, instruments, and procedural calibrations, and instrument maintenance.
· Follow the laboratory’s policies whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.
· Be able to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problem or notify the appropriate supervisor.
· Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
· Preanalytical duties including but not limited to, labeling, centrifuging, pouring off, and accessioning.
· Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
· Supports ongoing changes in a professional manner, contribute to a positive work environment and to the team effort of the laboratory.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
