Job Summary
The 3RT CORE Peer Specialist is a key member of a cross-system team serving families and youth with complex needs through the 3RT CORE wraparound program. This role blends peer support with care coordination, providing lived-experience mentorship while also facilitating meetings and supporting care planning. The specialist ensures the active engagement of youth and families in their treatment process while supporting community-based interventions.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

Peer Support & Engagement:
- Serve as a role model for youth and families by demonstrating recovery and resilience strategies.
- Provide emotional support, encouragement, and advocacy for families navigating the 3RT CORE process.
- Engage youth and families in decision-making, ensuring their voices are central to their treatment.
- Facilitate skill-building opportunities, including coping strategies, social skills, and self-advocacy.
- Meet with youth and families weekly, providing peer-led interventions and guidance.
- Care Coordination & Team Collaboration:
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to youth and family strengths.
- Plan and facilitate Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings, ensuring input from all stakeholders.
- Serve as a liaison between youth, families, service providers, and community resources.
- Increase family engagement by identifying and incorporating natural supports into treatment.
- Work with the treatment team to ensure all services align with 3RT CORE guidelines and family goals.
- Assessment & Crisis Support:
- Conduct intake observations in home, school, and community settings.
- Assist in completing family and behavioral health assessments, including strengths and needs evaluations.
- Contribute trauma-informed insights to care planning and crisis response.
- Monitor safety concerns and report any significant incidents, including abuse, neglect, or behavioral crises.
- Administrative & Documentation Duties:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Health Record.
- Track CFT meeting activities, action steps, and team communications.
- Ensure all required 3RT CORE documentation, including crisis plans and progress reports, are completed.
- Provide reports on engagement and intervention outcomes.
Other Related Duties:
- As a mandated reporter, follows all procedures outlined in agency policies and procedures to report to the proper agency when there is suspicion and/or confirmation that a child or adult has been a victim of abuse or neglect.
- Actively participates in staff meetings and multi-disciplinary meetings with other team members.
- Actively participate in team and/or individual supervision as stated in agency policy.
- Identify and address families’ barriers to independence and recovery.
- Facilitate learning opportunities for families by teaching life skills classes and leading children’s activities.
- Complete all required documentation.
- Uses appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of Three Rivers Therapy client protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
- Will regularly utilize all forms of communication (email, text, phone, etc.) and database practices necessary for this position and as directed by supervisor.
- Perform as a team member to assure that productivity outcome measures are achieved.
- When subpoenaed or otherwise called upon, appear in court to testify regarding families’ involvement in the program in a professional manner.
Job Qualifications

Education/Experience:to perform this job successfully, an individual must have and possess Peer Support Certification.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certification as a Peer Support must be obtained within three months.
- Ability to work flexible hours (evenings, nights, weekends)
- Operate from a strengths-based perspective.
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills and excellent documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Working knowledge of community resources
- Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner within the community and develop collaborative community relationships.
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred Skills:
- Demonstrated experience working with culturally diverse populations and/or demonstrated life experience which qualitatively improves service delivery to Rising Strong families (i.e., diverse health perspectives, cultural and family style approaches).
- Experience working with issues of homelessness, substance abuse/addiction, mental health and/or poverty preferred.
- Knowledge of The Tri-Cities and Benton / Franklin County community resources.
Certificates/Licenses: To perform this job successfully, an individual must:
- Possess valid WA State driver’s license and clean driving abstract.
- Successfully pass background check applicable to position.
- Eligible for Agency-Affiliated Counselor registration required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.57 - $21.52 per hour
