Perm Opportunity Chemical Dependency Counselor II Bilingual (Spanish / English only) Render a range of assessment and intervention services under direct supervision. Provide consultation to outside agencies on problems, assessments, and recommendations for clients. Will provide individual case management, e.g., to clients coming out of a detox center and into a residential treatment setting, or in outpatient services. Will serve both males and females; may serve adults or adolescents.Schedule : Monday - Friday 8am to 5pmResponsibilities : Provide diagnosis and treatment for clients within the range of program services; especially those requiring chemical dependency treatment. Provide individual and family counseling. Prepare written reports, regular case dictation and summaries for consultation according to program standards and professional ethics. Perform other duties necessary to accomplish objectives. Act as an advocate for program participants with courts, schools, treatment centers, and other services as appropriate in order to make referrals and conduct follow-ups. Combination of experience and education represented by a Bachelor's Degree with 3 years relevant chemical dependency counseling work experience. Required. LCDC II or be licensure eligible. Required. Must have knowledge and experience working with adolescents and alcohol / drug assessment and case management if clients are youth returning from state institution or in juvenile justice system. Required. Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships. Must be organized, detail oriented and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Must possess group work skills. Must have competent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Good working knowledge of computers with familiarity of Microsoft Office software. The youth served may have experienced severe trauma with abuse and / or neglect. Referrals may come from a variety of sources such as Schools, Children Services, Juvenile Court, schools, pediatricians or others.
