What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Thresholds?
The Custodian provides general cleaning and routine maintenance of assigned location. The Custodian will perform general office cleaning, remove all trash and garbage, and vacuum carpeted areas, among other duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- General office cleaning included but not limited to: overall cleaning of the office, cleaning and scrubbing of the restrooms including all fixtures, sweeping and mopping of the kitchen, hall, and rest rooms, plus buffing and waxing the floors as needed.
- Removes all trash and garbage to the area designated by your supervisor.
- Vacuums all carpeted areas.
- Maintains the kitchen area including but not limited to cleaning of all counters, removing old food from the refrigerator, cleaning of the refrigerator, and cleaning of all appliances.
- Dusts all areas on a regular basis. Wooden surfaces are to be polished as assigned by your supervisor.
- All cleaning materials are to be stored in a safe and secure manner as determined by your supervisor.
- Move/store program supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- May be required to work a flexible schedule including being on-call.
- Thresholds I.D. badge must be worn at all times while at the job site.
- The hours for this role are Monday through Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to operate standard custodial equipment
- Ability to work independently and to take initiative to complete assignments with minimal instructions and adhere to policy and procedures
- Basic computer skills, including logging in to the Thresholds system, typing, and completing required trainings.
