Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Thrift Store warehouse lead to manage and coordinate warehouse operations for our thrift store. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient flow of donations, maintaining an organized storage area, and supporting the team to provide quality products to the store. The warehouse will uphold the values of sustainability and community while meeting operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide warehouse staff and volunteers in their daily activities, including sorting, organizing, and moving donations.
• Train and mentor team members to ensure productivity and adherence to store policies and guidelines.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that aligns with the mission of the thrift store.
• Coordinate the intake, sorting, and storage of donated items, ensuring proper handling and quality standards.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse to optimize space and ensure accessibility of inventory.
• Work with the team to ensure a consistent flow of merchandise from the warehouse to the sales floor.
• Inspect donations for quality and condition, adhering to store standards for resale.
• Identify and properly dispose of unsellable or hazardous items in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure items are categorized and priced correctly before transferring them to the store.
• Enforce safety protocols for warehouse staff and volunteers, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Communicate effectively with store management regarding inventory needs and challenges.

Qualifications

• Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or retail environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Experience working in a thrift store or donation-based environment is preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Familiarity with inventory systems and basic office software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.

Working Conditions

• Environment: Warehouse setting with frequent exposure to varying temperatures and potentially dusty conditions.
• Schedule: Requires flexibility, including Saturdays
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move heavy items for extended periods.
