The Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Supervisor plays a vital role in getting our food product to our customers. The ideal candidate is one who is committed to employee safety, food safety and quality, looks for improvement and is ready to roll up their sleeves with us in a manufacturing start-up environment.
You will develop site specific safety initiatives and lead corporate safety initiatives to ensure safe manufacturing processes. In a fast-paced environment like manufacturing, the EHSS Supervisor is an integral part of the operation. You work closely with the operations teams, quality, and maintenance departments to evaluate work processes and safety needs and practices.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for leading the implementation and enforcement of EHSS (environmental, health, safety, and security) policies and procedures in a production environment.
- Recommends EHSS improvements in operational methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
- Leads and supports the EHSS efforts by partnering with various levels of leadership and support teams.
- Has responsibilities for the mitigation and prevention of organizational risks which is accomplished through, training, developing, complying, investigating, evaluating, coordinating and correcting.
- Aid in incident investigations, compiling reports, analyzing root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
- Monitor, track, and analyze incidents, observations, and corrective actions recorded in EHS systems, ensuring accuracy, completion, and compliance.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained, readily available, and compliant with regulations.
- Collaborate with teams across departments to identify, assess, and mitigate potential workplace hazards, fostering a strong safety culture.
- Coordinates post-accident communication with TPA/Insurance company to assure effective workers compensation cases management.
- Ensure security of the premises through use of technology and/or human resources or outside vendors.
- Responsibility for overseeing all processes, procedures and actions related to the safety at the site, its resources, and the people within it.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, safety management or similarly situated degree is preferred.
- At least 3 years' experience in food manufacturing– with examples of when they have demonstrated excellence in the workplace.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices.
- Must display a cohesive ability to apply interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Comfortable training groups of employees in a classroom or on the production floor.
- Ability to engage with individuals respectfully and collaboratively and exercise sound judgement.
- Ability to establish and maintain healthy relationships with internal teams, vendors, contractors, and governing agencies.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.

- Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Freeze Dry’s food safety, quality, and sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety or quality incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
- Adheres to and ensures Product Safety and Quality standards are followed.
- Adheres to and ensures GMP’s regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.

The job is performed under frequent temperature variations and in a food manufacturing production environment and unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees as is the ability to lift to 40 lbs. The work requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and some fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 40% or more sitting, 40% or more walking, and 20% or more standing. Personal protective equipment is required and provided by Thrive Freeze Dry.
