Job Title: Procurement Specialist
Department: Finance/Strategic Sourcing
Reports to: Director of Procurement
Essential Functions Include:
- Monitor purchase orders for accuracy and timely delivery.
- Works closely with QA department with requests to our suppliers including Certificate of Analysis, vendor QA checklist items, and other documentation.
- Work with internal teams to set up new vendors and provide necessary documentation.
- Order office supplies and non-production items.
- As directed, assist team members with various projects/tasks.
- Produce weekly, monthly, and yearly reports as needed.
- Works with the operations and sales team to maintain effective relationships.
- Others duties as assigned
Qualifications Include:
- 5 years of experience in a similar role and field.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures around material management including ordering, inventory control and working with forecasts.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
- Understanding of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of material production, ordering and inventory systems preferred. Strong excel skills.
- Experience in the food or beverage industry is preferred. At a minimum, experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics ERP is a plus.
Physical Requirements – Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations:
- Consistent and reliable attendance
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity.
- 50% or more sitting, 50% or more walking, and 40% or more standing.
- The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a food manufacturing production environment.
- Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift to 40 lbs. is required.
