The Role
Thrive Market is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Industrial Engineer to join our dynamic CI team. This role will play a key part in optimizing operational processes, managing projects, and developing training to support continuous improvement initiatives and drive improvements within our fulfillment centers. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and document best practices that enhance efficiency and productivity across our fulfillment operations.
\n- Project Management:
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing projects aimed at improving productivity and operational efficiency.
- Support project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure initiatives stay on track and meet established goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to monitor progress, address challenges, and implement solutions.
- Process Improvement:
- Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop data-driven recommendations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve throughput.
- Implement process changes and monitor results to ensure sustainable improvements.
- Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Creation:
- Draft and update comprehensive SOPs for new and existing operational processes.
- Ensure that all SOPs are accurate, user-friendly, and align with company standards.
- Work with the operations team to roll out and communicate SOP changes effectively.
- Facility Layout Design:
- Design and optimize facility layouts to improve space utilization, workflow, and safety.
- Support Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
- Lead and participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement projects aimed at streamlining processes and reducing waste.
- Technology Integration:
- Assist in evaluating and implementing warehouse technology solutions to enhance operational capabilities. Such as Automated storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS), VerticalLift Modules (VLM), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), Yard Management Systems (YMS), etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering fields.
- 1-2 years of experience as an engineer in fulfillment center, manufacturing, or logistics setting (internship experience considered).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions and recommendations with clear and achievable ROIs.
- Proficiency in process mapping and workflow analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to present project kickoffs and recaps to Directors and above.
- Experience with project management tools and techniques, project management certification preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Experience leading Lean Six Sigma projects or kaizen events across multiple sites.
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite and data visualization tools, such as Domo or Tableau.
- Intermediate SQL proficiency.
- Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) tools for designing layouts or modifications to fulfillment workflows.
- Experience with automated systems such as PLCs, robotics, or warehouse control systems (WCS).
- Experience with warehouse management systems or manufacturing execution systems implementations, such as Oracle, Manhattan, or Red Prairie.
- Knowledge of training content development tools and platforms.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, including blueprints, and maintenance guides.
- Practical exposure to using tools and equipment in an engineering or operational setting, such as power tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring tools.
- Proficiency with troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical, electrical, or automation systems commonly used in fulfillment centers. Conveyors, sortation, robotics, and material handling equipment.

- Compensation Description - The base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000/Per Year.
- Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and geographic location.
- Total Compensation includes Base Salary, Stock Options, Health and Wellness Benefits, Flexible PTO, and more!
