What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lakota Advocacy Center Community Engagement Coordinator position at Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation?
The Lakota Advocacy Center Community Engagement Coordinator will support the Lakota Advocacy Center in advancing its mission through community outreach, engagement, and advocacy initiatives related to environmental restoration, land sovereignty, and other Lakota advocacy efforts. The role is currently funded on a temporary basis from January 2025 to July 2025, with a chance for extension depending on funding and program needs, but the
continuation of the position is not guaranteed beyond the initial term.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Community Engagement and Advocacy Support
? Assist in the design and implementation of community engagement programs focused on environmental restoration and land stewardship reclamation.
? Help facilitate community involvement in advocacy initiatives through the organization of workshops, outreach efforts, and public education campaigns.
? Collaborate with the Marcomms team to promote advocacy initiatives via digital platforms, print materials, and other channels to increase community participation.
? Assist with event coordination for community engagement activities such as educational forums, advocacy meetings, and public campaigns.
? Act as a liaison between the Lakota Advocacy Center and community stakeholders,
ensuring effective communication and engagement in all program activities.
