Position Summary
The Players Club Assistant Manager is responsible for all duties of the Players Club. The Players Club Assistant Manager will work closely with the Players Club Manager and the Director of Marketing to assist in enhancing guest experience for the casino, as well as, direct and organize activities and adjust and handle service complaints of guests. The Assistant Manager will have direct oversight of Players Club employees with guidance of the Manager. The Players Club Assistant Manager will ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and federal/state/tribal regulatory requirements. The Players Club Manager will work hours appropriate to meet the needs of the business, which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Performs all management responsibilities associated with Players Club directed by the Players Club Manager
- Assist in managing and supervising department employees and schedules
- Responsible for assisting the Players Club Manager with hiring, training, counseling and disciplining employees as needed
- Assist Players Club Manager in maintaining departmental budget and obtaining approval for purchases
- Responsible for handling paperwork sent to bank and audit departments
- Ensures Thunderbird quality customer service and cheerful atmosphere maintained
- Assist Players Club Manager in overseeing all operational aspects of the department
- Ensure department is conducted in compliance with Tribal, Federal, and State regulations
- Responsible for the compilation of all necessary information and preparation of reports needed to comply with Tribal, Federal, and State regulations
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of department at all times
- Handle customer disputes
- Participate in events throughout the year and assist Marketing as requested
- Must maintain high levels of confidentiality at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge and experience with budget preparation and analyzing a variety of reports.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; skill in working in an environment subject to constant interruptions and quickly changing priorities; ability to prioritize and delegate responsibilities when necessary; effective time-management skills.
- Knowledge of the operation of a variety of computer software, including word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
- Knowledge of general management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of cash and ticket handling procedures and the ability to recognize and correct problems as they arise.
- Knowledge of Tribal/State/Federal laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), Minimum Internal Control Standards and the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, Board members, and the public, both in person and through phone, e-mail and written correspondence.
- Ability to learn quickly, self-leader with initiative, highly flexible and comfortable in a constantly changing environment.
- Ability to handle large sums of money.
- Skill in producing, coordinating and managing promotional programs, projects, activities and events.
- Skill in public speaking and making announcements regarding special events, activities and promotions.
- Ability to train, instruct and supervise a variety of employees at all levels.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Management responsibilities for Players Club staff under the guidance of the Players Club Manager.
Physical Demands
- Required to walk, sit and stand for periods of time.
- Ability to push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and move intermittently throughout the day.
Work Environment
- Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
- Exposure to smoke and second hand smoke.
- Noise level can be minimal to intense.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of prior Players Club experience required.
- Proven leadership experience within a Players Club department.
- Must possess a valid drivers license.
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a key gaming license.
- Must be able to obtain a liquor license
Must have supervisory experience in the operation area.
