Thunderbird Molding Elkhart is looking for a Foreman to join our 2nd shift Injection Molding Department. We’re looking for an independently minded Supervisor who understands the importance of quality in a manufacturing environment while promoting excellent leadership qualities to the staff.
The ideal candidate must be experienced in Injection Molding, supervising technical and non-technical personnel. The successful candidate will be self-directed, work closely with the team, exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, and be a natural problem-solver and strong communicator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advanced injection molding processing skills
- Knowledge of plastic injection molds and set up
- Supervises and directs production employees so production needs are met
- Prepares and sets up tools and machines and adjusts machines as needed to ensure product quality
- Maintains equipment as required
- Trains production personnel in areas of production processes and safety
- Operates forklift to moves parts and tools as needed
- Evaluates employee performance
- Ensures all operations are according to established safety rules and procedures
- Works with engineering and quality control to continuously improve products and processes
- Performs other duties that may be assigned
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures
- Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions
- Ability to use computer software to record information about production material (Basic computer literacy)
- Attention to detail and time management skills are essential
Minimum Qualifications and Preferred Requirements:
- 5 years Injection Molding Supervision.
- Advanced plastic molding processing skills across multiple injection molding methods including multi plate molds, hot runners, custom grade materials, and others.
- Higher than average communication skills to be able to teach, learn and advise direct reports, peers and upper management.
- Highly ethical with the skill to treat all fairly while keeping the best interest of the business in mind.
- Regularly required to stand for long periods, walk, talk and hear.
- Ability to use both hands and arms to frequently bend, squat, reach, twist/turn.
- Ability to read and write in English.
