What are the responsibilities and job description for the Import Coordinator position at Thunderbolt Global Logistics, LLC?
Thunderbolt Global Logistics is an international freight forwarder and customs broker based in Baltimore, MD. Our office is located in The Broom Factory building in the Canton neighborhood. There are many places to shop and eat within walking distance of our office.
Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to work in a dynamic team environment. The person must be organized, work efficiently and have the ability to multitask. We want an individual that knows how to solve problems when they arise.
We are currently working in a hybrid manner with operations working on a 1 week in the office and 1 week at home schedule.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
Process import air and ocean shipments from pick up at overseas origin to delivered in the USA including customs clearance. Strong consideration will be given to any individual that has an operational background with project / out of gauge (OOG) cargo.
Knowledge of Customs regulations and PGA’s with particular attention to CPSC, USDA (Lacey Act) and FDA.
Continuous daily communication with clients, agents, truckers, warehouses, airlines and terminal operators is critical to the position.
General Expectations and Skills required :
- 2-3 years of industry experience working for a customs broker / freight forwarder
- CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) preferred
- Analytical thinker with problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong written and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using the Descartes / IES platform is a plus
- Continuing education within the industry.
