What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marine Project Manager position at Thunderbolt Marine, Inc?
The qualified candidate for this position must have a proven track record with a minimum of three years of project management within the marine industry. As the Marine Project Manager you will be the main point of contact with the customers and liaison with the company’s senior management team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project planning and execution of the schedule, requirements configuration, risk, changes, health, safety and security in compliance with the agreed upon customer and company standards and requirements.
- Responsible for the delivery of projects in line with the agreed upon timescale, budget and quality objectives, working within the defined project framework and procedures.
- Ensures the project requirements and tasks are correctly interpreted, planned, resourced and delivered.
- Manage yacht repair and refit from estimating through final testing, completion and invoicing.
- Coordinate all customer communications and requirements.
- Coordinate activities between shops, subcontractors and local & international suppliers.
- Assess and resolve problem areas that would affect the delivery schedule.
- Cooperate with regulatory bodies to ensure that building standards are consistent with maritime requirements.
- Exercise budgetary control and report monthly progress and expenditures.
- Monitor deviations from contractual obligations and propose change orders to owners.
- Conduct periodic progress meetings.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project team members
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the course of the project
Must have:
- Computer knowledge and experience
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Familiarity with contract administration and procurement processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
