One of the leading global investment managers in the commodities market is seeking a highly skilled Fundamental Oil Analyst to lead their Centralized Fundamental Research team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Investment team, interpreting and forecasting global oil commodities markets and trends, whilst simultaneously utilizing an advanced technical catalogue to generate investment strategies. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for either North American or Global Oil markets, a strong analytical mindset, and the drive to influence key investment decisions.
Your role:
- Maintain and enhance fundamental models to assist with trading efforts across all North American Oil markets
- Develop operational models from scratch to allow for the development of efficient data collection and storage
- Stay on top of market research and insights.
- Analyze data from different commodity asset classes and produce ad hoc analysis based on short-term market developments.
- Evaluate and improve market data quality.
Experience/skills required:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in the North American Oil market, either within the industry or in an advisory role.
- High GPA/ 1st Class Hons degree.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of financial modeling, specifically using Python and/or VBA, MATLAB.
- Proven track record of meeting challenging objectives.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
