Position Summary

The Experiential Technical Manager is responsible the technical execution of experiential and facility branding projects. This role bridges the gap between creative design and technical implementation, ensuring all graphic installation projects are executed successfully while maintaining high design standards. They will work closely with Client Services, Sales, Design, and Operations teams to deliver exceptional facility branding experiences.

Technical Production

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide material and substrate recommendations based on designed concepts.
  • Provide recommendations for production design setup to ensure installation success.
  • Conduct site surveys to verify measurements, anticipate installation challenges, and document surface conditions.
  • Consult with manufacturing vendors to provide details regarding designed concepts for successful production.
  • Inspect finished graphics for errors, damage, misprints, sizing issues, and overall quality.
  • Guide proper storage, packaging, and transportation of graphics.
  • Coordinate with install resources to gather and verify specifications, timing, and pricing.
  • Perform surface adhesion testing and document any special equipment or tool requirements.
  • Ensure OSHA safety regulations and company safety processes are followed on client installation sites.
  • Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and best practices.

Project Management

  • Self-manage to ensure deadlines are met, proactively pursuing information or direction as needed.
  • Collaborate with Facility Branding team to manage and guide complex installations.
  • Attend project site visits and meetings to provide insight and gather installation needs.
  • Work with Large Format Production Management to ensure all products are ready and correct prior to installation.
  • Act as the intermediary between FB Project Managers and vetted vendors to assist with coordination of necessary equipment and personnel for installations.
  • Engage with clients and client design teams to ensure files are prepared with a successful finished product in mind.

Sales Support

  • Participate in the sales process for clients needing installation services.
  • Share identified opportunities with the sales team.
  • Support estimating by determining proper installation resources for each project.

Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously seek process improvement opportunities.
  • Stay updated on new materials, products, and design ideas.
  • Provide guidance needed to ensure accurate job plans.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in graphic design, industrial design, architecture, or related field preferred but not required.
  • 5 years of experience in production and graphic design work, with experience in facility branding, built environment design, exhibit design, and/or experiential graphic design
  • Advanced proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in developing production/construction specifications and overall grasp of physical production and construction methods.
  • Experience with graphic installation techniques and materials.
  • Additional years of education and experience may be substituted for each other, as determined by Human Resources

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of materials, substrates, and installation techniques for facility branding.
  • Demonstrated strong project Management skills.
  • Strong, clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people, including co-workers, clients, vendors and project stakeholders.
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to details with ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize workload and make adjustment to meet business needs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong, efficient work ethic that can handle a high stress, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to show a sense of urgency with calm demeanor.
  • Ability to take ownership of the customer issue to get it resolved.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
