The Finance Risk Analyst at thyssenkrupp Materials plays a crucial role in identifying and mitigating potential market risks within our portfolio. Key Accountabilities:
- Ensures appropriate application of accounting policies (mark to market) and procedures in accordance with the relevant statutory and thyssenkrupp Group policies and procedures
- Partners closely with the Head of Base Metals Trading and various other internal and external stakeholders to make recommendations
- Participates, with hands on responsibility in monthly, quarterly and annual closings and financial reporting and performance of the division, customer, and supplier account reconciliations and other reporting as required
- Monitors financial instruments, such as futures, forwards, and swaps– expiry dates and positions for the Metals Industry
- Conducts regular risk assessments and provides insights on potential market risks within the commodities portfolio
- Develops and implements risk management strategies to mitigate potential market risks
- Monitors and analyzes commodity market trends, including supply and demand factors, geopolitical events, and regulatory changes
- Collaborates with traders and other team members to identify and evaluate potential trading opportunities and associated risks
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of risk management activities and reports

Qualifications:
- Minimum Requirements:
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3 years experience in Finance/Accounting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Job-Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in accounting, commerce, and business, gained either locally or abroad
- Significant financial and analytical skills within a commercial environment, preferably gained within a larger group with international exposure
- Experience in Base Metals Trading, Commodity Hedging, LME/CME, risk management and mark to market reporting is preferred
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail with a focus on teamwork
- Comfortable in a fast pace environment and display a high level of enthusiasm to contribute to the team and overall performance of the company
