Position Summary:
Project leader to manage and coordinate the successful execution of engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and alignment with project goals.
Responsibilities of Position:
- Project planning and scheduling: develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Cross functional team leadership: Lead and mentor the project team, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment w/ project objectives.
- Stakeholder management: Serves as primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and solutions.
- Budget management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints.
- Risk management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Quality assurance: Ensure all engineering deliverables meet quality standards and project requirements.
- Resource allocation: Allocate and manage resources efficiently to optimize project performance.
- Problem-solving: Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Continuous improvement: Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and outcomes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skill Requirements:
- 10 years of experience in engineering; 5 years in project management role.
- Knowledge in automotive engineering, especially for electric vehicles.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address and resolve project challenges and obstacles.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously ensuring timely delivery of results required.
- Flexibility to work in a diverse environment.
- Strong communications skills: ability to interact and communicate at all levels, with effective upward and downward communication skills demonstrated.
- Proficiency with project management software, e.g. MS project, understanding of engineering tools and methods, e.g. FMEA, simulation, etc.
- Preferred, not required: candidate with experience transitioning between companies, demonstrating adaptability.
- Preferred, not required: candidate with experience in automotive battery structures and/or thermal management
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor or related engineering degree required, master’s degree preferred.
Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:
- Valid drivers’ license.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to travel globally to plants, teams and customer sites.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily works in an office with some lab and plant visits.
- Full-time, with potential extended hours during critical phases.
- Possible hybrid work model with remote and in-office work.
- Adherence to safety protocols, e.g. for high voltage and refrigerants.
