Position Summary:

Project leader to manage and coordinate the successful execution of engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and alignment with project goals.

 

Responsibilities of Position:

  • Project planning and scheduling: develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Cross functional team leadership: Lead and mentor the project team, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment w/ project objectives.
  • Stakeholder management: Serves as primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and solutions.
  • Budget management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Risk management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Quality assurance: Ensure all engineering deliverables meet quality standards and project requirements.
  • Resource allocation: Allocate and manage resources efficiently to optimize project performance.
  • Problem-solving: Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Continuous improvement: Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skill Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience in engineering; 5 years in project management role.
  • Knowledge in automotive engineering, especially for electric vehicles.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address and resolve project challenges and obstacles.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously ensuring timely delivery of results required.
  • Flexibility to work in a diverse environment.
  • Strong communications skills: ability to interact and communicate at all levels, with effective upward and downward communication skills demonstrated.
  • Proficiency with project management software, e.g. MS project, understanding of engineering tools and methods, e.g. FMEA, simulation, etc.
  • Preferred, not required: candidate with experience transitioning between companies, demonstrating adaptability.
  • Preferred, not required: candidate with experience in automotive battery structures and/or thermal management

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor or related engineering degree required, master’s degree preferred.

 

Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:

  • Valid drivers’ license.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to travel globally to plants, teams and customer sites.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily works in an office with some lab and plant visits.
  • Full-time, with potential extended hours during critical phases.
  • Possible hybrid work model with remote and in-office work.
  • Adherence to safety protocols, e.g. for high voltage and refrigerants.
