Data Science Leader The Data Science Leader job manages a department that includes multiple teams led by managers that are responsible for the execution of data science initiatives to ensure the development of business insights from complex data research and analysis. This job contributes to setting the strategy and owns mid-term execution aimed at designing innovative analytical models and utilizing data science solutions to improve the data-driven decision making that contributes to business growth. Key Responsibilities and Duties Formulates and administers the strategic direction of the data science strategy for the enterprise, in collaboration with the Chief Data Officer and other executives. Controls the development and implementation of data mining protocols, architecture, and models as well as data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets. Communicates with top management to devise data solutions using prototypes, proof of concepts, algorithms, predictive models, and custom analyses. Advises senior management on the adoption of data science and advanced analytics across the managerial, executive and operational stages. Champions solutions, improvements and best practices to increase operational efficiency and lower the operating costs of the data science department. Monitors competitors and peer organization's to stay abreast of emerging trends in data science, and uses this information to secure the position of the organization. Manages the performance of the direct reports through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure the delivery of exceptional services and projects, motivation and development of the team.Educational Requirements University (Degree) PreferredWork Experience 8 Years Required; 10 Years PreferredPhysical Requirements Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work Career Level 10PL Experience building, leading and mentoring a high performance team of data scientists across different lines of business Proven track record in coaching team to deliver high quality work by providing technical guidance and establishing standard approaches Ability to partner with cross-functional leaders to influence goals, strategy and future vision driven by data and insights, as well as creating roadmaps and plans to answer important business questions Demonstrate the ability to solve loosely defined problems and communicate with cross-functional partners in a clear and compelling manner Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R) Experience querying large data sets, experience with data analytics including creating pipelines from internal and external sources. Previous experience working with media and marketing data sets strongly preferred. Technical expertise with quantitative analysis, experimentation, causal inference, regression, data mining, attribution and marketing mix modeling Ability to manage end-to-end experimental design implementation: identify KPIs and success metrics, perform data validation and power analyses, monitor progress and derive insights Base Pay Range: $172,500/yr. - $287,500/yr. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
