What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Paralegal position at TIAA?
TIAA seeks a senior paralegal to join our Law Department supporting insurance product development and management for our institutional retirement and retail businesses. This senior paralegal will join a team responsible for providing legal advice in connection with the design and implementation of fixed and variable annuities, stable value products, funding agreements, and other insurance products and services for defined contribution retirement plans and retail markets.

Base Pay Range: $36.81/hr. - $55.34/hr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).

Preferred Experience:
Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Lead support for variable annuity registration statement annual updates.
- Assist with drafting of insurance contracts.
- Assist with support for a variety of issues related to the two insurance companies and the insurance agency, including operations, distribution, marketing & sales.
- Assist with review of non-disclosure agreements, master services agreements, and other agreements related to distribution of insurance products.
- Assist with preparing Board and internal governance materials.
- Keeping apprised of legal developments affecting client businesses.
- Knowledge and experience with insurance rules and filing requirements impacting annuity and life insurance products, including annuity contracts that fund retirement plans.
- Ability to research insurance laws and regulations, circular letters, OGC opinions and relevant case law, and ability to interpret and apply same.
- Dealing with insurance operational requirements.
- Interacting with Insurance Department regulators.
- University (Degree) Preferred
- 2 Years Required; 3 Years Preferred

- Project Management Skills
