Information System Security Officer (ISSO)

TIAG is now hiring an Information System Security Officer to join our team supporting a Navy customer at Port Hueneme, CA.On this program, TIAG provides technical expertise in Cybersecurity to support a newly formed team. The team’s objective is to evaluate systems critical to Navy’s mission and develop a strategy to secure them. The primary function of the team is having a holistic understanding of network architecture, ports and protocols, behavior patterns, computing technologies, operating systems, applications, and electronic devices to identify security anomalies and events. They hunt for threats and analyze malicious software to stop them from interrupting operations around the world.The ISSO team member is responsible for securing the information system that protect and detect anomalies and support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities. An ideal candidate for this position will have experience with system administration / management of mainly Microsoft-based software and have an understanding of network and Linux. The candidate will work with the team, including customer, to improve the security posture and make recommendations on newer technologies or solutions. Position Responsibilities : Install, configure, and / or troubleshoot a variety of operating systems and applicationsSetup and maintain IT and Operational Technology (OT) hardware equipment like rack-mounted servers and Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS) test equipmentPerform back-ups, restoration, purging, and on-going management of data, systems, software, and hardwareAssist Information System Security Manager (ISSM) with RMF activities, including remediating / mitigating and developing policies and documentationApply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to configure and secure systemsSupport continuous monitoring efforts through SCAP and ACAS vulnerability scanningDevelop, maintain, and communicate diagrams, system configurations, and technical documentationDraft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or manuals for internal processes and system configurationsAssist Blue Team with remediation or mitigation of identified system vulnerabilitiesSupport Red Team operations in IT / OT environments through installation and configuration of offensive cybersecurity toolkitsWork with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to maintain vulnerability assessment toolkits for both local and remote operationsResearch tools, techniques, and trends in Operational Technology (OT), network, application, and operating systems vulnerabilities and remediationMake recommendations for future additions to the systems and operating environmentsRequired Experience : DoD Top Secret Clearance Bachelor’s degree in relevant field from accredited university is highly desiredCompTIA Security CEISSO experienceExperience with administration / managing Windows-based softwareWorking knowledge of network ports and protocols and operating systems (Linux)Experience with ICS / SCADA protocols and applications is highly desiredEffective written and verbal communication skillsTIAG is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer that does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by local, state, or federal laws, rules, or regulations.  TIAG's policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment.  To achieve our goal of equal opportunity, TIAG maintains an affirmative action plan through which it makes good faith efforts to recruit, hire, and advance in employment qualified minorities, women, individuals with disabilities, and protected veterans.
