TIAG is now hiring a Software Application Tester to join our Web/Applications Development team in Arlington, VA supporting the Office of Naval Research (ONR). The Application Tester will be responsible for testing software applications to ensure they meet quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in Quality Assurance (QA) and with creating and executing test scripts. The candidate will work closely with developers to identify and resolve issues and will be responsible for documenting and reporting any defects found during testing.

Responsibilities
- Develops and executes comprehensive test plans and test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and security.
- Conducts manual and automated tests to identify defects, regressions, and inconsistencies in software applications.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in the design and implementation of test automation frameworks to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
- Documents and reports software defects using issue tracking systems and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
- Performs exploratory testing to uncover hidden defects and assess overall product quality from an end-user perspective.
- Conducts compatibility testing across different devices, browsers, and operating systems to ensure seamless user experiences.
- Monitors and analyzes test results, trends, and metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Provides feedback and recommendations for enhancing software quality, usability, and performance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Stays updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in software testing methodologies.
- Performs 508 compliance testing in knowledge management tools; DoD experience preferred but not required.
- Applies familiarity with Agile best practices, to lead requirements gathering sessions, and assist the development team to create user stories.
- 5 years of progressive professional experience as an systems or application test engineer
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Active Secret Clearance or current interim
- DoD Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) DoD 8570 IAT Level II qualifications:
- Security Baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security , CCNA Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP)
- Computing environment certification (e.g., Linux , Server , AZ-104 Azure Administrator, AZ-204 Azure Developer Associate, AWS Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS DevOps Professional, VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), or ServiceNow Certified System Administrator))
- Experience with QA methodologies and software testing
- Ability to create and execute test scripts
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
