The role involves assisting skilled craftspersons by performing supportive duties as directed, working under immediate supervision, and learning to use appropriate hand and power tools to repair, replace or perform maintenance on equipment.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for receiving equipment assigned to the job, documenting its condition, and setting up regular service and inspection schedules.
In addition, the ideal candidate will be required to learn how to assist equipment operators in effectively using the Daily Walkaround Report and generate an accurate Equipment Locator.
Key skills and qualifications include the ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions, communicate effectively with management/supervision, and field experience in chosen craft discipline.
