STATUS: Full time, exempt

LOCATION: Bellingham, WA (on-site), remote

SALARY RANGE: $85,000-$95,000/year based on interview outcome & overall experience

JOB SUMMARY:

The Junior Designer will work closely with the Creative Director and communications function to create high-quality design and communication materials that align with Tidal Vision’s branding and messaging strategies. This role requires proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects at once. The Junior Designer will support the creation and optimization of presentations, edit product labels, build brand packs, update style guides, and assist in web design projects. A successful candidate will be self-reliant, organized, and able to manage their workload with minimal supervision.

Your Team:

As a key member of the creative team, the Junior Designer will collaborate with the Creative Director and cross-functional teams such as marketing, communications, product development, and external partners. You will contribute to the visual identity and communications of Tidal Vision and have the opportunity to work on projects that have a direct impact on the company’s mission and market perception.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Design and produce a wide variety of communication materials, including digital and print assets.
  • Manage projects effectively in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Edit and maintain product labels, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Support web design projects, creating responsive and user-friendly layouts.
  • Help develop brand packs that outline visual standards for various product lines and campaigns.
  • Build and optimize visually compelling presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Update and refine Tidal Vision’s style guides to maintain consistency across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with various teams to gather input and feedback, ensuring all designs meet the project’s objectives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4 years of experience in design or related field, with the professional use of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for design decisions.
  • Comfortable working with various brand assets and adapting to different project needs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to gather context from multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn new software and concepts rapidly.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint, Google Slides, spreadsheets, document formatting, and printing.
  • Prior experience in branding and visual identity projects.
  • Background in chemistry, biology, biotechnology, or science communication.
  • Background in water treatment or agriculture.

Licensing & Special Requirements

  • Incumbent is subject to a criminal background check.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Most of the work is performed in an office environment. Sitting or standing for long periods may be required.
