What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Supervisor position at Tiegerman Community Services?
Tiegerman Community Services (TCS) provides services to adults with developmental disabilities in Queens, Suffolk, and Nassau Counties and is approved by the New York State Office for People with Disabilities (OPWDD). We are seeking a Program Supervisor to join our team!
The Program Supervisor is responsible for providing direction, guidance, and oversight to all Adult Services programs. Ensures through management, that programs are managed in accordance with Tiegerman Community Services policies and regulations and requirements of applicable regulatory agencies. Under the direction of the Director of Adult Services, the Program Supervisor s is also responsible for overseeing all Managers, Coordinators, Assistant Managers, Registered Nurses, Behavior Specialists, and all other Direct care staff associated with any Adult Services programs.
** Must be willing to travel to all locations on an as needed basis
Specific Duties:
- Ensures that all measures for safety and well-being are maintained at highest level.
- Under the guidance of the Director, Provides overall direction, guidance and supervision to all sites.
- Under the guidance of the Director, Conducts staff meetings with ABLE Community Staff on a regular basis.
- Interviews, hires, evaluates, orients, trains, disciplines and when necessary. Assists in the termination of staff when necessary.
- Ensures program actions are conducted in a manner that is in line with the policies and procedures of ABLE Community Services
- Maintains records on staff such as level of performance, specific deficiencies, counseling sessions, training records, etc.
- With the management team, conducts individual supervisory meetings with staff in order to assess their performance.
- Responds to program and work related questions, problems and complaints from staff, families and outside regulatory agencies.
- Ensures that assigned sites are kept clean, neat, healthy, and safe
- Ensures that all programs comply with agency policies and procedures.
- Ensures programs are meeting goals and consumers are receiving optimum care.
- With the Director and Assistant Director of Adult Services, develops long range program plans including new programs for the agency.
- Prepares various concise written reports as assigned.
- Ensures division complies with all OPWDD and other agency regulations.
- Responsible for being on-call 24/7.
- All other duties as they come up
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and team building skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field
- A minimum of (1) year experience working with the developmentally disabled population
- Must be willing to complete and supervise trainings in SCIP, CPR, and AMAP
- Valid NYS Driver’s License (valid for a minimum of 3 years)
