TCS is seeking a Medical Coordinator (Medical DSP) to join our Adult Services Program located in Farmingdale, NY!
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 7 AM to 3 PM
Rate: $20 per hour
Responsibilities: ·
- Administer medications on a daily basis or when assigned by the management team
- Order the appropriate medications when necessary and or before the medications run out
- Reorder medications as needed on a weekly basis, check for expired medication (prior to getting rid of meds discuss with RN)
- Ensure all medications are in the residence/facility before the medications run out
- Schedule the appropriate medical appointments for the individuals and ensure all appointments are followed up routinely
- Transport individuals to and from medical appointments
- Obtain all pertinent information from the Medical Clinicians and ensure all information is related to the management team and RN
- Complete any required documentation necessary
- File all paperwork in the appropriate places
- Assist/monitor/teach individuals with preparation of daytime activities; encourage good personal hygiene
- Assist/monitor/teach individuals on completion of daily chores
- Provide light housekeeping ( all common areas of the home)
- Meet with individuals (as needed) on an individual basis to discuss concerns, problems. Serve, as an informal advocate for residents
- Assist/monitor/teach individuals in holding meetings and informal discussion groups with peers
- Supervise individuals in on and off campus activities
- Handle emergency situations appropriately
- Utilize crisis interventions when necessary
- Provide first-aid assistance to all individuals and assist in the follow through on medical needs for residents
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Asst. Manager, and Administration
- Report suspected abuse & neglect to supervisor immediately
Requirements:
- Valid NYS Driver’s License required
- Minimum Education of High School Diploma/GED required
- Experience with Special Needs Population preferred
