The Data Center Administrator (DCA) is responsible for maintaining the physical and operational integrity of the data center. The DCA will also serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Gigamon infrastructure and oversee migration efforts to new infrastructure systems. This position primarily operates during the first shift but may require occasional third-shift work during critical implementations.

- Install, remove, test, and label fiber and copper structured cabling systems.
- Conduct network test access point (TAP) surveillance and management.
- Rack and unrack equipment as needed.
- Escort vendors and oversee third-party infrastructure installations and maintenance.
- Maintain the physical and environmental health of the data center.
- Serve as SME on Gigamon infrastructure.
- Orchestrate and migrate specific connections from old to new infrastructure.
- Monitor and manage service ticket activity, ensuring timely resolution of tasks.
- Document Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs) and Critical Work Orders.
- Prepare and submit reports on infrastructure status and performance.
- Participate in consultant project reviews and daily audits.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols for both the organization and the hosting facility.
- Work with vendors to schedule and oversee maintenance and installation activities.
- Communicate technical requirements and ensure vendor adherence to company standards.
- Strong knowledge of fiber and copper structured cabling systems and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Experience with Gigamon infrastructure is preferred.
- Understanding of IT hardware, compute systems, telecom, network, storage, and security environments.
- Prior experience in an enterprise data center or similar critical systems environment.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Visio, etc.).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with leadership and team members as needed.
- Primarily 1st shift with the flexibility to work 3rd shift as required during critical implementations.
