What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director- Spanish Immersion position at Tierra Encantada?
Tierra Encantada is the leader in Spanish immersion early education and provides high-quality language immersion education to children ages 6 weeks through 6 years of age. We are currently seeking a qualified Assistant Director for our brand new location in Rochester, MN! The Assistant Director provides support and assistance on special projects, helps with enrollment at our centers, and helps fill in for Director/Assistant Director absences and vacations, and provides additional administrative support to Centers and corporate headquarters.
Duties:
- Become intimately familiar with Tierra Encantada Center operations
- Assist with center operations, which includes: responding to family inquiries and questions, welcoming families, providing tours, facilitating first classroom visits, helping with field trips, updating and maintaining classroom trackers, helping in classrooms cover breaks, planning center events and special days, etc
- Adheres to guidelines outlined in Director’s Manual pertaining to center management, classroom management, family interactions, and child development
- Maintains a positive, friendly attitude with families, and be a “team-mate” to parents and staff in supporting children’s growth
- Ensuring facilities adhere to licensing guidelines
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with teachers, cooks, other floats, and administration to ensure a team environment is maintained
- Must fulfill required training requirements, and support Center objectives in achieving accreditation
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have previous administrative experience in an early education setting. Prefer candidates with previous experience as an Assistant Director or Director at an early education center.
Must have expert level skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), be able to write, speak, and read English fluently, and have conversational Spanish skills. The ideal candidate will be a go-getter that takes the initiative to determine solutions and is not afraid to ask questions. They are personable, supportive, and have excellent time management skills. They are willing to go above and beyond to help a colleague out and have excellent follow-through skills. Outstanding organizational skills, strong interpersonal/customer service abilities, and the ability to multi-task efficiently are all critical skills for this role. They truly love children and enjoy spending their time with children. Looking for a self-starter that is motivated to learn and grow with a rapidly expanding company. Qualified candidates will have the physical ability to perform essential job functions without health restrictions. This includes the ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time, to have unrestricted use of the upper and lower body, hearing and vision within normal ranges to be able to adequately ensure the children’s safety, to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, to chase a fleeing child, to join children’s play actively, and the ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, and climb stairs. They will have current First Aid/CPR certification or will be able to provide a certificate of completion of an approved pediatric first aid and CPR training within 90 days of hire. Employees are responsible for renewing and maintaining a valid, current CPR, and pediatric first aid certification at all times. Fingerprinting with DHS and e-verify will need to be done.

Pay, Benefits, and Schedule:
This full-time, exempt position. Salary range depends on experience, and benefits include discounted childcare, paid training, 401(k), medical, vision, and dental insurance, and two weeks paid time off (PTO) per year (PTO increases with service and caps at four weeks PTO annually) and eleven paid holidays.
