Job Title: 1st Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Location: Tierra Oaks Golf Club – Redding, CA
Pay Rate: $20 – $24/hour, DOE (Depending on Experience)

Position Summary:
Tierra Oaks Golf Club is seeking a motivated and experienced 1st Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to support the Golf Course Superintendent in all aspects of course maintenance and operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone passionate about turf care, committed to excellence, and ready to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will assist in leading the grounds team and ensuring the course is maintained to the highest standards of playability and appearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily planning and supervision of the grounds crew.
- Help implement agronomic programs including mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
- Perform and oversee routine maintenance and repairs of irrigation systems.
- Train staff on proper use of equipment and safety procedures.
- Monitor turf conditions and report concerns to the Superintendent.
- Operate a variety of turf equipment as needed.
- Lead by example with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude.
- Ensure all maintenance practices are compliant with environmental and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of golf course maintenance experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and safe chemical application (applicator’s license a plus).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Compensation & Perks:
- $20–$24/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
