As a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Systems Administrator, you will join our Information Technology Department in our Westfield office, where you will work closely with team members to design and implement cutting-edge systems and processes that elevate our client service experience. Our Information Technology Team
Working collaboratively with the Service & Support Team, Systems Administrators, Security, and IT Management, the department ensures that all IT initiatives are aligned with the company’s business goals and objectives. The team plays a vital role in optimizing and maintaining the firm’s technological infrastructure, delivering innovative, reliable, and secure solutions that empower the business to achieve its goals and drive success.
What will you be doing as a VDI Systems Administrator?
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for critical VDI infrastructure, ensuring high reliability, scalability, resilience, cost-effectiveness, and security.
- Offer Tier 1 support to users, assisting them in leveraging technology solutions.
- Administer, maintain, optimize, and scale systems including the firm's Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment, supporting engineering workflows for civil engineering design, simulation, and modeling software.
- Collaborate with IT, engineering teams, and external vendors to ensure secure, stable, and high-performance environments for project-critical applications.
- Develop solutions to enable the creation of Digital Twin solutions, integrating systems and data across SCADA, CMMS, BIM, and Twin platforms.
- Participate in the development of ITSM processes and procedures, supporting the growth of Tighe & Bond and its technology strategy.
- Work on project teams to deploy new technologies and provide training to users on their use.
- Document system configurations and stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the AEC industry.
What do you need?
- BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Administrator, VDI certifications) are a plus
- 3 years of experience as a system administrator or in a similar role, preferably in the AEC industry
- Strong understanding of Azure, Azure Virtual Desktop, networking, and virtualization
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
- Proficiency in requirements gathering, process analysis, and scripting (Power Shell, Python)
- Experience providing end user support in hybrid work environment
- Knowledge of software development
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
