Position Summary:
The Quality Control Manager is tasked with strategizing, creating, executing, and overseeing quality control and assurance protocols, methodologies, and records linked to the preparation, monitoring, and evaluation of deliverables in construction, fuel operations, environmental remediation, and demolition projects. This entails ensuring adherence to established standards, identifying areas for improvement, and facilitating thorough reviews throughout project lifecycles.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Contributing to the development of proposal technical approaches and cost estimations related to Quality Program implementation.
- Crafting comprehensive Quality Control Project Plans encompassing Definable Features of Work, inspection criteria, and testing strategies, along with the creation of pertinent field documentation.
- Upholding compliance with Submittal regulations, including maintaining meticulous logs, overseeing review/approval processes, and assessing technical submittals as required based on specialized knowledge.
- Assisting the project team in generating Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed.
- Enforcing a 3-phase Quality Control process in the field
- Documenting field quality discrepancies and managing them through a Deficiency Log until resolution.
- Establishing and guiding a team of subject matter experts to implement tailored QC programs effectively.
- Collaborating with the field team to comprehend the timing and rationale behind quality inspection and testing "hold points," and strategizing for their successful execution.
- Compiling targeted Daily Quality Control Reports, minutes of Preparatory and Initial Phase meetings, and deficiency reports, emphasizing inspected and tested work features and their outcomes rather than field productivity.
- Providing updates on the status of quality program implementation to the Program Quality Control Manager, with copies to the Project Manager and Site Superintendent.
- Drawing upon experience and expertise to assist the project team in resolving outstanding quality issues, offering troubleshooting and problem-solving support as necessary across all projects.
- Demonstrating a proven history of meeting production, quality, and customer service benchmarks within the dynamic realm of construction.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- 7 years of experience in a Quality Control Manager role and completed at least two similar projects
- One similar project must have the construction successfully completed or has reached substantial completion within the past ten (10) years
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management dependent on project requirements.

- Proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and logically reasoning through data, culminating in appropriate recommendations.

- Flexibility and adaptability to navigate constant changes.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary to meet project deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with both staff and clients.
- Advanced skills in Excel and Word applications.
- Ability to execute tasks safely and responsibly.
- Possession of OSHA 30 certification is highly advantageous.
- Potential for extensive travel as part of job requirements.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English with clear comprehension.
- Extensive background across diverse civil, vertical construction, demolition, and environmental remediation projects preferred.
- Proficiency in revising corporate quality plans and crafting project-specific quality control inspection/testing plans and field documentation across various project types preferred.
- Proven ability in mentoring field quality technicians showcased through a track record of success preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in interpreting plans and specifications.

Pay: Negotiable
Location: Tucson, Arizona; Saguaro National Park
Travel: 10% as needed. Occasional travel to Douglas and Nogales
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
