PT Ice Cream Operator

What you will do:

Ice Cream Operator 1 assists in the produc t ion of ice cream including but not limited to; palle t izing ice cream cartons, making mix, opera t ing machinery and inspec t ing product to ensure quality.

Here’s a day in the life:

• Assists in the produc t ion of ice cream including but not limited to the following job duties: Inspect product and Mix Making.
• Equipment Opera t ion and Monitoring: HACCP Metal Detector and Pasteuriza ti on Machinery.
• Production line set-up and tear down and palletizing ice cream cartons,
• Perform NAV and Wonderware data-entry.
• Master Sanitation duties including cleaning, CIP and sanitizing procedures.
• Follow flavor ingredient Bill of Materials and flavor ice cream base instructions.
• Perform all other duties as needed.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
• Ability to communicate effectively and willingness to follow instructions.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and/or ability to deal wit problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize and be able to work independently.
• Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple, short documented instructions and memos.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent from instructions.
• Must be computer literate with basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and be able to enter information into a specialized database. ERP systems knowledge such as NAV is desired.
• Must be a team player and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
  
  

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 – 3 years related manufacturing experience/training; or equivalent combina t ion of educa t ion or experience is preferred. Knowledge and experience with manufacturing sanita t ion prac t ices also is preferred.
• Pre-work physical exam is required. Must be able to work in freezer environment as low as -20 degrees on produc t ion floor or in a warehouse environment. Must be able to work with allergens i.e. nuts, eggs, milk, etc. Must be able to work various rota ti ng shifts including weekends.

Working conditions:

Space can be crowded with manufacturing equipment. Must remain aware of other forklift traffic. Noisy; some areas can be dusty. May encounter extremes in temperature. Requires opera t ion of forklift or other power equipment. Du t ies may include repetitive motion and lifting up to 60 pounds. Standing 70%, Walking 10%, Lifting 15%, and Climbing 5%
