Performs duties associated with collection and tallying of park registration fees. Performs other related recreation/park duties.
(Duties assigned to this position are not all inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned.)
Register Park guests and collect fees at County Parks.
Greet visitors and provide information regarding the Parks system, local area, etc.
Perform general office duties as assigned that are associated with registration of campers.
Inspect camping sites routinely to assure camper compliance.
Collect and record cash payments and make deposits.
Courier duties as directed by supervisor. Train seasonal staff on reservation software system.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Knowledge: Knowledge of Parks Department procedures and policies. Basic knowledge of general office practices and procedures including, answering phones, filing, word processing and record keeping.
Skills: Skill in the use of various software systems in word processing such as MS word, Excel. Reservations system software preferred but not required. Skill in operation of office equipment such as copiers, fax machines and shredders. Accurate typing skills.
Abilities: Able to perform arithmetical calculations rapidly and accurately. Able to handle money (making change, balancing receipts, bank deposits, etc.). Able to perform general office/clerical tasks and follow established procedures. Able to meet and deal with the public in a cordial manner. Able to flexible work schedule (i.e., holidays, weekends, early or late hours). Able to remain calm and use good judgment during confrontational or high-pressure situations. Able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of training, education and experience which provides the ability to adequately perform the duties of the position. Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal history background investigation. At time of appointment, must possess a valid Oregon driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None. Work is performed with immediate supervision from an administrative employee in accordance with established guidelines. The Supervisor introduces assignments by explaining specific instructions. Assignments are routine so that few deviations from established practices are made without checking with supervisor. Work is spot-checked in progress or at completion. Supervisor is available to answer questions.
Work is performed within the department policies and procedures. Guidelines are closely followed with little need for deviation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in an outdoor office environment in all types of weather, and may require bending kneeling, voice conversation, light lifting and carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, walking, or extended periods of standing or sitting. Work may be performed in a setting with frequent distractions and interruptions.
