Job Summary
Tilley Distribution is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing and geographically dispersed accounting team. The selected candidate must be able to work in partnership with internal stakeholders and various accounting groups across multiple sites. The successful candidate will support the accounting team and play an active role in ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the Company’s financial information.
Essential Functions / General Accountabilities
General ledger accountants work across multiple areas of accounting including:
- Analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts, as well as, preparing journal entries related to accruals, rebates, inventory, and PO clearing. Additional preparation or review responsibilities may include cash, AR, AP, fixed assets, prepaids, leases, debt, and intangible assets
- Involvement with the physical inventories and cycle count processes
- Participating in monthly close process
- Contributing to the preparation of schedules and supporting documents for external audits as performed by the outside accounting firm
- Contributing to the Accounting and Finance groups with ad hoc projects and system implementations as assigned
Job Qualifications: Basics
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required, Master’s Degree a plus
- 3 years progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar work environment
- Proficiency with MS Office software, especially Excel
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations ERP and other financial systems
Job Qualifications: Preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), but not required
- Experience with change management (systems, policies/practices, culture)
- Experience working in an environment with highly manual accounting processes
- Experience with DataCor, FloQast, and Trullion
