Timber Walk is hiring a Project Safety Manager for our client in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Safety Manager, Construction
Staffing Type: Contract 1099
Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Project Duration: Approximately Mid-March 2025 to November 2025
Scope of Project: Onsite Safety oversite for the construction of a new data center
Must be onsite 40-60 hours or more each week.
This is not a remote position.
Qualifications:
· OSHA 510, Required
· BCSP, CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) Required
· First Aid, CPR, AED, Blood Borne Pathogens certifications, Required
· BCSP, STS-C, Preferred
· BCSP, GSP (Graduate Safety Professional) Preferred
· Bachelors Degree in Safety and Health from an accredited university or college is preferred.
Experience:
· 5 years of hands-on construction safety experience on multi-employer commercial construction projects
· 3 years of experience with commercial concrete forming, pouring, and finishing
· 1 year of experience working with and leading a team of multiple safety personnel
· 1 year of experience with excavations
Other Skills and Abilities:
· Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience working with construction trades
· Must have experience with and working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction standards
· Ability to identify hazards in the field and offer recommendations to correct and improve those activities
· Must have training and experience in Emergency Procedures
· Must be willing to work within General Contractors safety management system and framework
· Must be able to conduct, as needed, safety training and lead safety meetings
· Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Be a team player willing to work with project leadership, off-site safety leadership and field employees
· Able to meet deadlines, and work independently without direct supervision, as well as in a team
· Proficient with Microsoft/Google applications and standard office equipment
· Use of safety inspection software program(s) to complete required reports
· Understanding of and ability to write safety permits and pre task plans
· Willing to work overtime as needed
· Ability to work in outdoor construction conditions
· Must be willing to take and pass auxiliary safety classes and or certifications as needed
· Willing to take and pass background check and fitness for duty test
