What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Safety Manager position at Velocity Safety Advisors?
SUMMARY:
Velocity is in search of a Safety Advisor to oversee the client’s project safety program, regulatory compliance in the field, injury prevention, risk assessment, communications, and safety training. This position will be working with a full-service electrical contractor at a Data Center site in Fort Wayne, IN.
Candidate will be required to work the first month of employment in New Albany, Ohio to learn the necessary job functions and client requirements.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Work with the Project Management team to plan, implement and supervise the project environmental, health and, safety requirements.
· Address and recommend corrective action for violations, incidents, and trends.
· Reinforces safety culture with field team members, promoting positive reinforcement through coaching and mentoring.
· Complete daily field Safety audits utilizing the electronic safety software provided.
· Assists with follow up on any OSHA related issues, citations, and/or documentation requirements.
· Attend project related safety and pre-construction meetings.
· Assist with injury, general liability and near miss investigations.
· Provide and oversee Safety Orientation processes.
· Perform training for employees including, at a minimum; Fall Protection, Ladder Safety, Scaffolding, Trenching/Excavating, MEWP, Fork Lift.
· Assists in development of written site safety plans and JHA’s for hazardous activities.
· Responsible for creation and delivery of relevant weekly safety talks.
· Periodically present information for Safety Stand Downs and pre-shift huddles.
· Educate and implement any Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 3-5 years of Construction Safety experience ( electrical construction preferred)
· Degree in Safety Management/EHS or CHST Certification
· OSHA 510
· First Aid/CPR/AED Certification/BBP/Narcan
· Microsoft Office skills required
· NFPA 70E and LOTO Training

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
