Job Summary
Superintendent provides on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects, mainly single-family semi-custom and/or custom homes including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Superintendent is solely responsible for and will be held accountable for the timely completion of the project and ensuring that the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes. Communication is key; conflicts or revisions to the plan shall be communicated with project team members for mutual resolution, prior to execution of work that deviates from the approved plans. Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety. Travel, between Coeur d’Alene, ID and Whitefish, MT, 1 to 2 days per week will be required.

Primary Responsibilities

Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion.

Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.

Communicate with project team and customers.

Ensure that the subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work and has corrected all deficiencies identified by the project team.

Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.

Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards, and any non-compliance regarding quality of work or scheduling.

Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.

Maintain a written daily log of activities on the jobsite.

Perform Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously.

Walk all projects daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.

Take photos of all projects and upload them to BuilderTrend weekly.

Attend daily meetings to coordinate needs and designate work with the team.

Safety is a number one priority. Superintendent leads by example and wears proper PPE on job sites.

Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.

Perform walk throughs; electrical walk, 1st walk/orientation, final walk, and complete punch list.

Secondary Responsibilities

Assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions.

Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the job site.

Coordinate homeowner specifications with subcontractors, from BuilderTrend.

Identify areas of work that are outside of subcontracted scope.

Preside at preconstruction meetings when asked.

Secure the jobsite at the end of the day.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Superintendent shall supervise all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors daily. This supervision shall ensure adequate manpower is available for each task and compliant work is performed. Superintendents shall supervise all Assistant Superintendents and General Laborers.

Technical competency; able to communicate and perform on current company software (BuilderTrend), smartphone, web, email, spreadsheets and mapping tools.

Blueprint reading.

Physically lift up to 50 lbs.

Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs and at multiple job sites.

Education Required

High School Diploma

Minimum five years of verifiable experience in the construction/trade industry

Experience in housing production & custom homes required

Additional Requirements

Valid driver’s license and good driving record

Travel to multiple job sites as assigned

Mathematical Skills; basic; fractions & percentages; algebra; geometry

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
