Job Description Summary:
Product Development Manager will lead our product development efforts and ensure the successful execution of our product innovation strategy. Aid in managing cross-functional teams, driving the design and development of new products, and optimizing the lifecycle of existing products.
Job Description:
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap:
    • Develop and execute product development strategies aligned with company goals and customer needs.
    • Collaborate with leadership to define product roadmaps, ensuring they meet market demands, profitability targets, and technical feasibility.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, marketers, and other stakeholders.
    • Coordinate and facilitate communication between cross-functional teams to ensure product development projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Product Lifecycle Management:
    • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from concept to launch, including prototyping, testing, production, and post-launch optimization.
    • Conduct market and customer research to gather insights and feedback, ensuring product development aligns with market trends and consumer preferences.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead project planning and execution, managing timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
    • Identify and mitigate risks to product development schedules, ensuring solutions are implemented effectively.
  • Innovation & Problem Solving:
    • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product development team.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating relevant innovations into the product development process.
  • Quality Control & Testing:
    • Ensure rigorous product testing processes are in place to verify product quality, functionality, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve product-related issues, both internally and externally, during development and post-launch.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Engage with senior management, sales, marketing, and customer support teams to understand market feedback and refine product offerings.
    • Provide regular updates to leadership on the status of product development projects and achievements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
  • Good understanding of product development processes, methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum), and best practices.
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and delivering products on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with product development tools and software (e.g., CAD, project management tools, etc.) is a plus.
