Employee Reports to: Treasurer
FLSA: Hourly; Non-Exempt position
Status: Full-Time 80 Hours
Rate of Pay: Grade 20 / $27.50 to 34.50 per hour
Summary/Objective: Under the direction of the Treasurer, the Fiscal Analyst I will perform a wide variety of regular and recurring accounting functions that are in compliance with GAAP, regulation, investor and management requirements. They should be able to effectively process and maintain asset, liability, and income and expense transaction to support organizational goals. The Fiscal Analyst I will assist the Treasurer in closing the banks books monthly, preparing schedules for quarterly and annual filings, and analysis of financial statements. In addition, they will develop strong working relationships with other departments, staff and vendors.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare financial analysis and reports for balance sheet and income statements.
- Review, reconcile, and analyze balance sheet and general ledgers account reconciliations, identify errors, provide feedback for corrections, and post adjustments/corrections as needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end fiscal close and work with other accounting department team members to ensure that deadlines are met and monthly financials are produced on schedule.
- Prepare schedules for quarterly and annual filings.
- Assist with financial audits, tax returns, and other compliance tasks.
- Assist in reviewing/approving accounting activities such as wire transfers, accounts payable, or cash balancing.
- Collaborate with both front and back-office employees with varying levels of authority, regulators, external and internal auditors, and outside business partners.
- Participate in ensuring that accounting practices are in conformance with regulatory and Timberland Bank policies.
- Identify and drive resolution of any control issues and share best practices.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all financial reports and systems.
- Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- An Associate’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related field OR currently enrolled and expected to graduate by May 2025.
- 2-4 years or more experience preparing financial reports.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Advanced proficiency in using accounting/financial software
- Advanced knowledge/experience working with external auditors, internal auditors and/or examiners and leading audits or exams.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis techniques.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to problem solve to resolution.
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for a professional business environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments, staff, and vendors.
