Job Summary
Timberline is America’s largest feeder insect farm. Here at Timberline, the Cricket Harvest department is a dynamic, team-oriented department which involves sorting and boxing crickets to be used by the shipping department to fulfill customer orders. The Harvest room is the last step in the Cricket Production process before the product is shipped to the customer. You might be a great fit in Cricket Harvest if you enjoy a physical and fast-paced environment where you will work closely with others. To work in Cricket Harvest, you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the day, stand, bend, squat, and move freely throughout the room for the entirety of your shift without limitations. You must be comfortable handling and working around crickets and other insects.
Job Duties
Some of the things that you will do as a Cricket Harvester include:
- Move cricket grow boxes from their production rooms to the harvest room.
- Transfer crickets from grow trays and sort out dead crickets and unwanted pests using a vacuum hose.
- Align cricket boxes for efficiency, add food source, dip out appropriate quantity of crickets per box, and seal boxes shut.
- Strap finished boxes together and transport them to the shipping department.
- Clean and maintain work area to ensure the ongoing health of the product and reset the room each night in preparation for the next working day.
- Follow all instructions and perform other tasks assigned by the Lead and/or Manager.
Schedule
The schedule for Cricket Harvest is a fixed day-shift schedule as follows:
- Sunday: 6 am-2:30 pm (with 30-minute lunch)
- Monday-Thursday: 8 am-5 pm (with 1 hour lunch) *
- Friday/Saturday: Off
*Mon-Thu may sometimes include early out if all orders for the day are complete. Any available overtime goes to employees with excellent attendance and productivity.
