Job Summary
Timberline is America’s largest feeder insect farm. Here at Timberline, our Mealworms department is on the front lines of nurturing and harvesting the mealworms that our customers all over the world will use to feed thousands of reptiles. As a Mealworms Caretaker, you will be a part of the entire life cycle process from setting the pans to harvesting the mealworms. You might be a great fit in Mealworms if you enjoy a job where you can work with your hands and learn to do a variety of different tasks. To work in Mealworms, you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the day, stand, bend, squat, climb ladders, and move freely throughout the room for the entirety of your shift without limitations. You must be comfortable handling and working around worms and other insects.
We are currently hiring a Mealworms Caretaker for our innovative Assurance Farm.
Job Description
Some of the things that you will do as a Mealworms Caretaker include:
- Set up and place grow pans, place dry feed, and measure proper number of beetles and pupae.
- Regularly measure out dry feed and add in food and water source periodically.
- Learn to sort and harvest worms.
- Use date tracking to monitor health and quality of worms.
- Wash grow pans to recycle them for continued use.
- Follow all instructions and perform other tasks assigned by the Manager.
Schedule
The schedule for Mealworms is a fixed day-shift schedule as follows:
- Monday-Friday: 7:30 am-4:30 pm (with 1 hour lunch)
- Saturday/Sunday: Off
