Job Summary
Timberline is America’s largest feeder insect farm. Here at Timberline, our Cricket Production department is on the front lines of nurturing the crickets that our customers all over the world will use to feed their reptiles. As a production worker, you will feed, water, and care for the crickets as they move through their life cycle until they are ready for harvest. You might be a great fit in Cricket Production if you enjoy farm work and like working with your hands. To work in Cricket Production, you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the day, stand, bend, squat, climb ladders, and move about freely in our grow rooms for the entirety of your shift without limitations. You must be comfortable handling and working around crickets and other insects, and you must be okay working in warmer temperatures as the grow rooms range anywhere from 85-92 degrees year-round.
Job Duties
Some of the things that you will do as a Cricket Production worker include:
- Properly assemble grow boxes and add liners.
- Prepare and place grow pans, grow cells, and water pans in grow boxes.
- Add dry feed and water to grow boxes.
- Clean and maintain all grow rooms to ensure ongoing product health and quality.
- Follow all instructions and perform other tasks assigned by the Leads and/or Manager.
Schedule
Please note that availability to work both weekend days is a requirement for this position. The schedule for Cricket Production is a fixed day-shift schedule as follows:
- Saturday-Sunday: 6 am-2:30 pm (with 30-minute lunch)
- Monday-Friday: 6 am-3 pm (with 1 hour lunch) *
*Two permanent off days are assigned upon being hired based on current staffing needs. They will always be assigned as back-to-back weekdays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
