Job Summary
Timberline is America’s largest feeder insect farm. Here at Timberline, our Waxworms department is on the front lines of nurturing and harvesting the waxworms that our customers all over the world will use to feed thousands of reptiles. As a Waxworms Caretaker, you will be a part of the entire life cycle process from setting eggs to harvesting the worms. You might be a great fit in Waxworms if you enjoy a job where you work as a team and learn to do a variety of different tasks. To work in Waxworms, you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, squat, climb ladders, and move freely throughout the room for the entirety of your shift without limitations. You must be comfortable handling and working around worms and other insects.
Job Description
Some of the things that you will do as a Waxworms Caretaker include:
- Setting eggs in jars with food source.
- Set up grow pans and move hatched worms from the jars.
- Learn to harvest worms.
- Clean jars and pans to start the process from the beginning.
- Follow all instructions and perform other tasks assigned by the Manager.
Schedule
The schedule for Mealworms is a fixed day-shift schedule as follows:
- Monday-Friday: 7:30 am-4:30 pm (with 1 hour lunch)
- Saturday/Sunday: Off
