Safety Assistant

Primary Operational Objective
The primary function of the Safety Assistant is to assist the safety manager on a daily basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Help maintain Safety Data Sheets
- Assist with and/or conduct safety meetings, trainings, and toolbox talks
- Assist with Job Hazard Analysis
- Assist with Federal Motor Carier Safety Administration / Department Of Transportation compliance
- Help with accident/incident investigations
- Accompany employees to medical facilities when required
- Conduct drug tests if required
- Help with the creation of safety policies and procedures
- Complete daily/weekly jobsite audits
- Fire extinguisher inspections
- Assist with gate checks
- Maintain positive relationships with industry partners and vendors
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Fast-paced work site and office environment
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Must have a professional appearance and image at all times when representing Timberline
- Must become a Certified Urine Collector within 90 days of employment
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Keep up to date with current and emerging trends
- CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to become certified
- Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must pass background check consisting of employment history, personal/professional references, criminal record and drug screening
- Must be willing to do things outside of your job description. All team members help and support other departments when necessary
Desired
- Bilingual in Spanish highly desired
- OSHA 10 desired or willing to get it. (We will provide if needed)
