What are the responsibilities and job description for the Snow Removal/Lodge Support & Cat Ski Driver position at Timberline?
Description
Ensure complete and efficient snow removal of areas Timberline is responsible for; ensure hassle-free parking for Timberline guests and employees. Provide guest assistance. Transport skiers and snowboarders in passenger snow cat, weather permitting.
Requirements
- Operation of snow removal and sanding equipment.
- Operate Front End Loader for snow removal and vehicle towing.
- Operate sand truck.
- Assist guests with vehicle services including but not limited to battery jumps, lock outs, chains.
- Maintain traffic flow in conjunction with ODOT.
- Remove snow from Timberline Parking lots and access roads--priorities as directed.
- Contact Clackamas River Towing for removal of illegally parked cars.
- Enforce parking rules and regulations.
- Assist hotel guests and day visitors with towing as required.
- Provide access to Lower Shop for vehicles requiring those services.
- Assist with vehicles having mechanical problems as requested.
- Provide access to fuel as requested.
- Provide general assistance for hotel guests as requested by Front Desk Staff.
- Assist Indoor Maintenance Dept. and Lift Maintenance with special projects such as but not limited to snow removal, snow removal from around Lodge windows.
- Remove excess snow build up with snow-cat or other equipment as necessary.
- Sand roadways and parking lots as required. Fill sand truck from State yard as needed.
- Provide for general maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Assist Mountain Dept. in emergency situations, such as but not limited to evacuation of lifts.
- Respond to fire and other types of alarms in Day Lodge, as well as fire and safety emergencies in Hotel.
- Keep Wy’east Day Lodge entrances clean and free of trash and debris.
- Exercise sound judgment and awareness regarding language, behavior, and dress and grooming.
- Actively participate in RLK and Company’s Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace.
- Exercise stewardship of all RLK and Company facilities and environments, ensuring that efforts are made to reduce, reuse, and recycle when the opportunity is present.
- Present a professional, quality image at all times.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to make quick decisions in varying weather conditions and changing demands of arriving vehicles.
- Must be Timberline approved driver.
- Must have valid Class C drivers license.
- Must have experience with operating heavy equipment
- Must be able to multi task and keep priorities.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
- Must be able to shovel all types of snow and assist stuck vehicles in all types of weather.
- Must be able to work for long periods in all types of weather.
- Must be able to work in snow, icy, uneven and slick conditions.
Salary : $20 - $25
