SUMMARY:
Work with facilities and operations management to ensure routine maintenance and prompt response to service calls from owners, guests, and property departments. This role demands high-quality professional service to uphold Timbers Kauaʻi’s reputation and standards. Be a leader for the facilities maintenance team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential functions as defined are ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by incumbents within this classification. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Leadership
- Work with department leaders to coordinate and prioritize work requests.
- Assist with preventative maintenance plans for the facility.
- Support department manager and coordinator to develop and update standard operating procedures.
- Support department manager and coordinator to train facilities team on standard operating procedures.
- Display advanced ability to read standard blueprints and electrical, HVAC, mechanical and plumbing schematics.
- Safely Perform repairs and maintenance for plumbing, electrical, glazing, painting, drywall, wood, and other surfaces.
- Possess a high skillset for working with general mechanical components.

- plumbing,
- electronic systems and controls,
- carpentry and finish skills,
- kitchen equipment,
- vehicles,
- energy conservation, and/or
- general building management.
- High school diploma/GED, supplemented by technical or college course work training in a trade
- Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 2 years in a journeyman or lead role preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool certification or related fields.
Maintenance
- Proficient in at least three, and above average skills in at least three of the following skills:
- Knowledge and skills in safe use of manual and power tools and equipment necessary to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Perform complex repairs

- Work with other department managers to ensure property goals are achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Leadership and Supervisory skills to manage a small team.

- Detail oriented and committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and cleaning procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in using standard computer software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook,)
- Correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, in person, by video conference, and over the telephone.
- Valid Drivers License
- Available to work weekends, nights, and holidays based upon business needs.
