Typical Responsibilities :

Our Systems Engineers take ownership of clients' IT infrastructures, which means :

Provide onsite and remote network and server management for a variety of clients across different industries.
Plan, design, and implement server and network projects to meet client needs.
Proactively identify opportunities to better align client technology with their business goals.
Support the Client Account Manager in preparing and presenting proposals to improve clients' IT environments.
Participate in the on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.
Mentor and train team members, sharing expertise and providing guidance to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Collaborate with the team to develop best practices, test new technologies, and document standard procedures for common service requests.
Maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional customer service with a positive attitude.
Stay organized and follow through to completion, ensuring a high level of accuracy in all tasks.

Continuously learn and adapt to new applications and skills, challenging the status quo and driving improvements within the team.

We work as a unified team, so in addition to supporting clients' needs, you'll also be helping and mentoring your colleagues and they'll be helping and mentoring you!

Our Systems Engineers are expected to work as a team to develop best practices, test new technology, and document standard procedures for common types of service requests.

Required Skills :

Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude : Our clients call us when they're at their worst, and your colleagues may be reaching out to you for help when they're under pressure.

Ability to change tasks rapidly : As a service business, we expect the unexpected to disrupt our plans.

Ability to stay organized and follow through to completion, with a high level of accuracy.

A willingness and ability to learn new applications and skills.

The ideal candidate will not settle for the status quo. After learning how we operate, this person should challenge us to find new and effective ways of serving our clients and team, and be willing to help implement those ideas.

Required Technical Experience :

2-5 years of experience with Active Directory-based Microsoft Windows Server environments, including DNS, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.

2-5 years of experience with cloud services, including Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and hybrid cloud solutions. Knowledge of Google Workspace is a plus.

2-5 years of network experience, including TCP / IP best practices, VLAN configuration, SD-WAN implementation, and Wi-Fi management.

2-5 years of firewall and security appliance management, including Sophos, Fortinet, Unified Threat Management (UTM), and advanced threat protection.

Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Hyper-V.

Experience with backup solutions, such as Axcient, Veeam, and Datto, as well as disaster recovery planning and implementation.

General breadth and depth of experience with various hardware platforms, cloud services, and line-of-business applications.

Required Certifications :

At least 3 primary certifications such as :

CompTIA Network

Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator Associate

Microsoft Certified : Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

Other relevant industry certifications
