Overview

The Senior Civil Engineer plays a crucial role in our organization, responsible for planning, designing, and executing significant infrastructure projects that enhance community development and ensure public safety. This position requires a deep expertise in civil engineering principles, as well as the ability to lead project teams through various phases of design and construction. Senior Civil Engineers are expected to oversee the technical aspects of projects, ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements. With an emphasis on sustainability and innovative design, this role is vital to executing projects that are not only functional but also environmentally responsible. As a leader in the department, the Senior Civil Engineer will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and engage with clients to deliver successful outcomes on time and within budget. Additionally, this position demands excellent project management skills and a strong understanding of emerging technologies in civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and design of civil engineering projects.
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies.
• Prepare and review detailed design calculations and evaluations.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineers.
• Oversee project progress and ensure compliance with standards.
• Manage project budgets and schedules effectively.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineering staff.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices.
• Review and approve construction drawings and specifications.
• Engage with stakeholders to address project concerns and requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of design software, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience in project management and construction supervision.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design principles.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience.
• Expertise in cost estimation and budget management.
• Knowledge of local building codes and zoning regulations.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
