Job Description
We are seeking experienced Civil Designers/Senior Civil Designers to join our team for future opportunities. As an individual contributor, you will use your professional judgment to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs.
- Direct and complete assigned engineering designs using professional judgment.
- Assist Project Managers in assigning tasks and schedules to Project Engineers and project team members, answer questions, and monitor progress.
- Check the accuracy of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff.
- Make major design decisions that meet customer needs while coordinating the impact on related project efforts.
- Identify and address technical, schedule, or financial issues with Project Managers and/or clients as necessary.
- Assist clients in bidding or contractor selection if authorized.
- Monitor construction and supervise field personnel assigned to a task or project.
- Respond to contractor questions and prepare project addendums as needed.
- Recommend and prepare change orders.
- Participate in creating engineering services proposals.
- Communicate with clients on technical matters.
Requirements
- At least five years of civil design experience.
- Intermediate to advanced ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation software and other engineering automation tools.
- Ability to operate technical analysis equipment and computer equipment.
- Strong technical verbal and writing skills, and ability to read technical literature and engineering plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Develop financial project management skills through project work and assignments.
- Maturity, professionalism, and willingness to solve client problems.
- Effective two-way communication to work with internal staff and external clients.
